Transparent-Display mobile devices have long been the focus on the design of concepts and future vision of interactive technology. Leading in commercializing such devices, some manufacturing has released a very basic mobile phone such as Lenove S800, without much success. Transparent phones present new challenges like where to find batteries or color perceptions of display as “washed” (see a mixture of colors). In the augmented-treatment scenario, transparent cellphones suffer from serious challenges called “binocular parallax” which affects overlay on virtual content in the world. In addition, it is not clear what people want for this type of device.
At the upcoming ACM Conference on Designing the 2014 Interactive System (DIS ’14), we will present our work at TPAD. TPADS is a transparent tablet 7 “that helps explore how transparent tablets can be used. We exceed (or before?) Traditionally exhibits augmented reality scenarios and discuss daily tasks such as multitasking and capture picture.
